EXPERIENCE SOMETHING NEW…..LEARN SOMETHING UNCONVENTIONAL

Our Full S.T.E.A.M Ahead Robotics and Engineering camp combines traditional summer fun with the opportunity to explore robotics and engineering. The camp introduces you to the basics of robotics and engineering. You will learn the fundamental aspects of robotics and engineering through exploration with science, technology, engineering, art, math (STEM/STEAM) using hands-on, real-world applications.

ENGINEERING

You will enhance your developmental and problem solving and engineering skills.  Students are introduced to the science of gear ratio. Students build gears using motorized gears. interlocking plates, and 3-D connectors to build and design structures that move and work. Students learn fractions, ratios, proportions and mechanical concepts  using gears and pizza!

Engineering Design Process

You will:

  • Use the Engineering Design Process to design, build, and operate robotic and engineering projects.
  • Analyze the major impact engineers have on the world
  • Use a engineering notebook to design and sketch plans.
  • Build powered vehicles/prototypes to learn about force, motion and energy

ROBOTICS

Take your real-world robotics skills to the next level with the VEX Robotics Design System. Customize, build, and wire a base for your robot, then watch it go. Build robotic arms, battlebots, catapults, mechanical bugs, etc. Learn how to program your robot and use commands to make it move. Participate in a friendly competition

Explore Robotics

. You will:

  • Explore and learn about robot and robotics
  • Build robots using simple circuits, motors batteries, wires, and electrons.
  • Build and program functioning robots that are movable and programmable including robotics arms, rovers, catapults, etc.
  • Build gears interlocking plates, and 3-D connectors to build and design structures that move and work.

ELECTRICTY AND ELECTRONICS

Experience a hands-on introduction to electronics and electric circuits

Power Park Circuits

You will:

  • Build an electrical closed circuit using alligator clips, an LED, and power source.
  • Design and make simple and parallel paper circuits with switches.
  • Build simple circuitry and electronic projects in the electronic and snap circuits labs
  • Use motors, batteries and other electronic parts to build  a simple robot/bot
