THE VILLAGE KEEPERS
The “Whole Village” approach allows EDEC. to develop the “Whole Child.” We offer programs and services that address each child’s educational, social-emotional, cultural, and economic needs. We work to remove barriers for children and youth experiencing significant challenges and problems that place them at risk of underachievement, school failure, and/or becoming a dropout.
Children and youth who face poverty and other social and economic issues need support, not only academically, but also meeting basic needs. EDEC strives to do this by giving back to the community so children and youth have those basic needs, such as food, shelter, required school supplies, and uniforms to succeed academically.
By partnering with schools, parents, and the community, we accelerate student achievement in district schools in the Greater Dallas area by strengthening academic, civic, and character outcomes through service learning. We will work toward building a world where all young people are valued and called upon to lead. With passion, creativity, and ingenuity, young people are making change happen!
EDEC believes that it is more blessed to give than to receive. The EDEC organization not only provide programs and services but also volunteer in the community.
