Reach One Teach One Program– your donation will help us continue to provide free tutoring to those students who need it the most in order to gain and maintain grade-level competencies. Our goal is to serve 200 students during 2023-2024.
STEAM Academy Our STEAM Academy prepares students for college and career pathways in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, or Mathematics through instructional and hands-on activities that encourage interest, exploration, critical thinking, cooperation, and collaboration. Our academy includes STEAM camps and STEAM Labs. During the summer of 2023, this program provided an eight-week Engineering and Robotics camp to 580 students who live in under-championed communities. Your donation will help us continue to bring innovative STEAM programs to those who live in communities where they face opportunity gaps, serious lack of enrichment and extended day and summer learning, and who are less likely to have access to enriching nonacademic experiences.
Village Keepers Outreach Program. Our program provides economic assistance to children, families, and youth who face poverty and other social and economic issues. This program has provided services to 2278 unduplicated students and families which included food boxes, school supplies, uniforms, backpacks, clothing, and essential goods. Your donation will help us to continue to fight hunger and provide students with the essentials they need to succeed in school and life.

We Believe
Youth need support during the learning process. Learning differs across tasks, development, and among individual youth. The instruction given must vary appropriately to the individuals learning styles, strengths, needs, and interests.
EDEC’s guiding principles are to provide youth with the needed academic, social, and leadership skills to meet their full potential by developing productive student-focused environments. This individualized learning environment maximizes the knowledge retained for children and youth in both regular and alternative education settings. In a partnership with families and the community, we seek to help young people become productive and contributing members of society and lifelong learners.
There is nothing I cannot do if I have a mind, a mighty will, and a belief in myself. Therefore I am invincible. If I believe, I can achieve. So today, I can and will put my best foot forward because I am somebody, I am somebody.
Mary Miller
The mission of EDEC is to provide a nurturing and positive learning environment for children and youth. We accomplish this by using a framework that provides a strategic, holistic approach to programming and support to increase collaboration between parents, schools, and community organizations, thus strengthening schools, communities, and family resources. The result will enable children and youth to have a voice in their community, schools, and society.
